What should I do if the print stops suddenly/the touch screen turns to the reboot (white) screen suddenly?

The touch screen turns to the reboot (white) screen suddenly in different scenarios:

  1. the first time I turn on the printer.
  2. I am using the jog mode.
  3. the printer is heating up the nozzle and heated bed during change filament.
  4. the printer is heating up the nozzle and heated bed before starting a print.
  5. the printer is printing. (Optional: The software shows the below error: )

Solution for Scenario 1

Four parts of the printer can cause this problem: the controller, the 3D Printing Module and the RJ45 Cable. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Make sure the touch screen is connected to the controller before you turn on the printer.

  2. If this happens repeatedly even after you restart the printer, check the color of the LED on the controller when this happens again. Is it red or blue?

If the LED is blue, power off the printer and disconnect the touch screen from the controller. Connect the computer to the controller and use Snapmakerjs to control the modules. If the modules can move properly, the touch screen is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and send an email to support@snapmaker.com for replacement parts. If the modules cannot move properly, please send an email to support@snapmaker.com for further assistance. If the LED is red,

  1. Power off the printer and replace the 3D Printing Module with the Laser Engraving Module. Power on the printer and see if the laser engraving module can work properly. If the laser engraving module can work properly, there might be something wrong with the thermistor inside the 3D Printing Module. Please go to step 2. If the laser engraving module cannot work properly, please go to step 3.
  2. Make sure the thermistor is connected to the circuit board properly and try to turn on the printer again. If the printer cannot be turned on, please replace the thermistor and try again.
Please fill in the warranty request and contact us at support@snapmaker.com for a replacement and follow this tutorial to replace the thermistor: https://youtu.be/X8HG0nZM2eI

  3. Power off the printer and replace the Laser Engraving Module with the CNC Carving Module. Power on the printer and see if the CNC Carving Module can work properly. If the CNC Carving Module can work properly, the thermistor inside the 3D Printing Module is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and send an email to support@snapmaker.com for replacement parts. If the CNC Carving Module cannot work properly, please go to step 4.

  4. Follow this tutorial to test the connectivity of the RJ45 cable using a multimeter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0Z5s-vJ5E4&feature=youtu.be. If the RJ45 cable is defective, please fill in the warranty request and send an email to support@snapmaker.com for replacement parts. If the RJ45 cable is working fine, the controller is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and send an email to support@snapmaker.com for replacement parts.

Solution for Scenario 2

It may be the touch screen that causes this problem. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check the color of the LED on the controller when this happens again. Is it red or blue?

If the LED is red,

  1. Power off the printer and disconnect the touch screen from the controller. Connect the computer to print a print that needs more than 12 hours. If the print is successful, the touch screen is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and send an email to support@snapmaker.com for replacement parts. If the print is not successful, please send an email to support@snapmaker.com for further assistance.

If the LED is blue, please send an email to support@snapmaker.com for further assistance.

Solution for Scenario 3, 4, 5

5 parts of the printer can cause this problem: the touch screen, the thermistor inside the 3D Printing Module, the heating tube inside the 3D Printing Module, the controller and the RJ45 Cable. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Power off the printer and disconnect the touch screen from the controller. Connect the computer to print a print that needs more than 12 hours. If the print is successful, the touch screen is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and send an email to support@snapmaker.com for replacement parts. If the print is not successful, please go to step 2.
  2. Make sure the thermistor is correctly positioned in the heated block according to the following picture.
  3. Detach the left side cover of the 3D Printing Module. Make sure the thermistor and the heating tube are connected to the circuit board properly and try to print again. If the print is not successful, please go to step 4.
  4. Power off the printer and replace the 3D Printing Module with the Laser Engraving Module. Power on the printer and see if the laser engraving module can work properly. If the laser engraving module can work properly, the heating tube inside the 3D Printing Module is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and contact us at support@snapmaker.com for a replacement and follow this tutorial to replace the heating tube: https://youtu.be/X8HG0nZM2eI

If the laser engraving module cannot work properly, please go to step 5.

  5. Power off the printer and replace the Laser Engraving Module with the CNC Carving Module. Power on the printer and see if the CNC Carving Module can work properly. If the CNC Carving Module can work properly, the heating tube inside the 3D Printing Module is defective. Please fill in the warranty request and contact us at support@snapmaker.com for a replacement and follow this tutorial to replace the heating tube: https://youtu.be/X8HG0nZM2eI
